INFO
SuperGood Mart (fka Flavor Brand) is a small business I started in 2012 as a creative outlet for producing my own t-shirts, and developed it into a business that included hoodies, hats, patches, lapel pins, keychains, art prints, stickers, and even shopping bags! You can check out the online shop here.
Below are examples of graphics I designed myself for the brand.
Reusable Shopping Bags
INFO
Probably my favorite product that I have designed for the brand so far, I made these nylon shopping bags to resemble the classic plastic shopping bags you can find at any local market or corner store. They are larger than your traditional plastic bags and were produced by Baggu.
Postcard Flyer
INFO
I created this artwork of the Flavor Brand booth at DesignerCon 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center to print on postcards and hand out at the event, and it appeared as an ad in the brochure handed out to all attendees as well! The booth was designed to resemble a Flavor Brand convenience store / mini-mart.
Long-Sleeve and Short-Sleeve T-Shirts
INFO
One of the brand’s best sellers, this is a collaborative design I made with my friend and artist Philame Galicia and a redux of an older design I created for the brand. The designs are based on the graphics on a produce crate, with Japanese lettering and additional graphics drawn by Philame.
Stickers
INFO
These stickers are a parody of McDonald’s classic Halloween buckets, mashing up original designs with Flavor Brand’s Yum Boy logo. My favorite part about these clear vinyl stickers is that they have invisible ink printed on them that only reveals the FLAVOR brand name under UV light!
Long-Sleeve T-Shirts and Rubber Keychains
INFO
The Konbini design is based on the graphic style of signage used on the exterior of convenience stores in Japan. I had the “store logo” printed on the front of these long-sleeve t-shirts, and the colored rectangles that run around the top borders of the facade printed on the sleeves. I also used the logo to make rubber keychains.
T-Shirts and Acrylic Keychains
INFO
This was a design I created for a collaboration with another clothing brand called Get Lost Perv!, featuring their bunny girl mascot Sherri at the beach wearing a Flavor Brand Yum Boy Hat and drinking from a Flavor Brand Jumbo Soda Cup. I had the graphic printed on t-shirts and made into acrylic keychains.
T-Shirts, Sweatshorts, and Coozies
INFO
"Stay Home & Chill" was a design idea I thought of during the second summer of the COVID pandemic, as a way of encouraging people to make the most of their time by themselves at home. I had the design printed on lightweight t-shirts and drink coozies, and embroidered on sweatshorts, all perfect indoor and outdoor items for a lazy summer.
Face Masks, Running Shorts, and Coozies
INFO
The Snack Runners collection was another concept I came up with during the COVID pandemic. Merchandise for people finding a way to expedite their grocery runs while avoiding exposure to the disease. The collection included a series of face masks, running shorts, and a drink coozie.
T-Shirts, Running Shorts, Hats, Soda Cups, and Button Pins
INFO
This collection was inspired by vintage fast food restaurant merchandise, with different designs on hats, t-shirts, running shorts, and button pins. My favorite product from this collection is the Jumbo Soda Cup, it really ties the whole collection together and is a useful novelty item.
Lapel Pins
INFO
This lapel pin was made to resemble a neon OPEN sign in the window of a Chinese restaurant, displaying a steaming bowl of hot noodles. The backing card was designed to accentuate the concept of the neon restaurant signage and create a focal point on the pin.
Lapel Pins
INFO
This lapel pin was made in collaboration with Universal Studios and DesignerCon as official merchandise for Jurassic Park, that doubled as a promotion for the Jurassic Park art show at the convention in 2018. The design is a parody of Jolt Cola, the brand of soda that character Dennis Nedry drinks in the first movie, and includes the quote “Anybody want a soda or something?”, which the same character asks nervously to everyone in the room as an excuse to leave in order to sabotage the control center of the park and get away with stealing the dinosaur DNA.
Lapel Pins
INFO
This was the second iteration of my concept of turning a neon OPEN sign into a lapel pin, this time displaying a sizzling hot dog. The backing card is the original design I made for the first Flavor Brand lapel pins.
Hats and Patches
INFO
This design was made to resemble the signage that was printed on the sides of or sat on top of vintage commercial ice freezers. I used the graphic to make iron-on patches, and later embroidered it onto white hats.
